Fostering Together Ltd is an independent organisation based in the South of England.  Our ethos is to work in true partnership with foster carers, recognising their professional status and sharing the fostering task. This includes ensuring we consider foster carers as our professional colleagues and invite them to offer training to carers and staff where they are comfortable in doing so.

We mainly recruit and support Foster Carers in Sussex, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Surrey, Worcestershire and Hampshire.

Fostering Together has a strong reputation for caring for children with Disabilities and Attachment difficulties. The ‘Attachment Project’ is run by very experienced and highly qualified staff with direct therapeutic parenting experience. The project works across adoption and fostering placements to enable good outcomes for children and their carers.

In our latest Ofsted report our carers said;

‘I can’t praise Fostering Together enough. They keep me informed about everything. They have a very high standard’.

‘My foster child is always at the heart of every decision that has to be made’

‘We feel valued and are treated individually. Nothing is too much trouble for the agency. It is like having a second family’.

Fostering Together does not believe in making money out of children’s disadvantages, therefore whilst Foster Carer’s and staff are paid comparably to other Fostering Agencies, our profits are channelled back into developing our services for children and young people, Foster Carer’s and Local Authorities.

This difference has proved invaluable over the years in identifying appropriate support for all Foster Carers, recognising and respecting Carers for their incredible dedication, and ensuring that the right amount of training is provided.

We recognise the importance of support, consultation, advice and information. Therefore the support we put in place for Foster Carers and the training we offer is of a very high level. We provide emotional and practical support, as well as a real understanding of the role Foster Carers play in the lives of disadvantaged children.

Foster carers and  agency staff are part of an extended team who provide care for foster children. We all work together with Social Workers, and others such as Therapists and Teachers, to support a child through their time in foster care. The ability to be able to listen, communicate and seek advice is an important skill for anyone working with children.

Fostering Together remains committed to working in partnership with Foster Carers, to reach the best outcomes for children.

Family Link was started by Eric Eaton in 1992. Eric worked as a Foster Carer and Social Worker but often found it difficult to access the support and services he needed to help children in his care. It was for this reason that Family Link was founded on the basis that Foster Carers would be supported by staff who had either worked as Foster Carers, become adopters or had worked in Residential Care with children.

In 2008 Fostering Together and Family Link joined forces with Sarah Naish and Eric Eaton becoming Directors of Fostering Together Ltd. The ethos remains the same.
